When do I need a EPC? A Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) Is required when a property is Built, Sold, or Rented.

How does EPC Hampshire work? You can order your required survey online, or via phone. One of EPC Hampshire’s assessors will contact you within 24-48hrs  to arrange a suitable time to visit your property and carry out the assessment. Once the assessment is completed, your assessor will lodge your report on Landmarks central database where EPC Hampshire will be able to retrieve it and forward it on to you via your preferred method.

What is an EPC?

An EPC is essentially a document produced to show a buildings energy efficiency rating and a buildings environmental impact. Both of these ratings are displayed in graph format and are scored between A – G (A being the highest & G being the lowest).

An EPC will also list a set of recommended installations to further improve the building’s efficiency levels to reduce its environmental impact.

How long does an EPC assessment take? Residential assessments usually take between 30 – 60 minutes to gather the data required, although it may take longer for larger properties.

Commercial assessments can vary from hours to days depending on the size and complexity of a building.

What information is needed for an EPC? Information on a buildings age and construction will be required, along with glazing type and coverage. Heating systems and heating control information will also be required along with property dimensions and the number of floors.

How long will my EPC last for? All EPCs are valid for 10 years.

If I have lost my EPC, do I need to get another one? No, all EPCs, residential and commercial are stored on a central database. If you think you have a valid EPC, or you have simply misplaced your EPC, please contact us and we will retrieve your certificate for you.
